Visiting the Capitol Building Before heading up to the third floor observation seats, stop on the second floor and ask one of the sergeants for a "card".  Fill it out with your Senator's name to be recognized either with written comment pertaining to the business of the day and/or, if you wish, to be introduced in the chambers.  You can also use the card system to request that your Senator or Representative come out from session for a few moments.  If they are able, they are happy to see guests who are there to say hello or to comment on legislation.
